Saint Bullion’s Day, Saint Martin of Bullion’s Day
15th July. This is also known as St Swithin’s Day and carries the same traditional associations with weather prognostication and Aberdeenshire has its own variations on the name of the saint. St. Martin’s day was known on Donside as “Martin Bulg’s Day”; in the Buchan district of Aberdeenshire it is called “Marcabillin’s Day” (Sir Walter Scott The Antiquary 1898).
