- in Scotland, the word hill may be used of all kinds of landscape features from high mountains to artificial mounds. The best-known example is perhaps the Hillfoots that form the district at the base of the Ochil Hills in Clackmannanshire, running eastwards from Stirling, beyond Dollar.
