Nessie exists to boost the sale of T-shirts, soft toys and other souvenirs to the great benefit of the Scottish economy. Believed to favour the deep water close to the romantic Urquhart Castle, she is a rumour that refuses to go away. There is no smoke without fire! Or, to use the Scots expression for the same sentiment, there is aye watter whaur the stirkie [bullock] droons.
