- a cloud-formation in which long trails of cloud appear to converge at either end. Long tails of cloud, wider overhead, and apparently nearing towards the horizon on each side – what Caithness fishermen [call] a “weather mouth,” is formed (Transactions of the Buchan Field Club 1891).
